HISTORY
OF CARL'S FARM STORE, inc.

| Carl
Honermann founded Carl's Farm Store, Inc. on October
8, 1959. It was started in the M.J. Larson wool
shed or ( a small two car garage ) on a side street
in Adrian, MN, as a Purina Chows, feed and animal
health dealership. |

In
1961 Carl's Farm Store, Inc. moved into a new facility
at its present location, 301 West Pearl St., and
hired its first full time employee Jerry Heitkamp.
In 1963 a stationary feed mill was built and Carl's
son Delbert Honermann returned to the business.

| In
1969 Delbert Honermann and Jerry Heitkamp purchased
the business from Carl. In 1999 Delbert and Jerry
began their exit plan from the business. In 2005
Jerry officially retired from the business. Presently
the business owners are Tim Voss, Jason Tweet, and
Delbert Honermann (semi-retired). |
| Over
the past years Carl's has had many changes. At first
the business consisted of doing business with all
the small, local farmers of the surrounding Adrian
area, by providing good products and excellent service.
The business grew and prospered because of good
hard working aggressive farmers, excellent employees,
and a built in desire for Carl's Farm Store, Inc.
to be the most respected agri-business in our area.
None of this has changed !!!!! The thing that has
changed is the size and volume in which it is done
today. Our goal is still to provide the best products
and service to our customers. |
Carl’s
Farm Store Inc. is presently in grain storage and
receiving facility expansion, which started a few
years ago and by the end of 2006 it will have added
400,000 bu of grain storage, 10,000 bph receiving
pit and leg, and 13’ X 80’ truck scale.
To better serve our continually growing business.
Today Carl’s has 13 full time employees: Tim
Voss, Jason Tweet, Delbert Honermann, Dave Seive,
Jeff Runia, Jay Taylor, Kelly Renken, Bruce Brunk,
Gene Voss, Jason Kellen, Kristi Wempen, Jon Oechsle,
and Aaron Konz. During the construction season this
may grow by eight to twelve part time employees.
Today its business consists of: feed milling, swine
management, livestock investment, grain storage,
sales and construction of grain handling, drying,
and storage. With the modern technology available
to us today we are able to maintain the quality
that are customers have become to expect. |
